Jeon Young-Ill and Citizens <Farewell to the Mask>

이 작품은 코로나 극복을 자축하고 지난 고통을 씻어 버리기 위해 긴 여정의 마지막 구간 입구에 세운다. 마스크에 다다른 관람자들은 은하수 여행의 긴 여정이 힘들었지만 이겨냈기에 빛날 수 있는 지난 팬데믹의 시간들이었다는 것을 알 수 있다.
코로나를 극복하게 도와준 마스크에 마음의 소리를 써 붙여 완성하는 시민참여작품. 그동안 사회적 거리 두기로 만나지 못해 전하지 못한 마음, 하지 못한 일들, 억눌린 감정뿐 아니라 되찾은 희망에 대한 문구를 마스크에 실어 보낸다. 거대한 마스크를 화려하게 장식하며 희망보다 환희를, 힐링보다는 활력을 이야기할 수 있기를 바란다.

This work is placed at the last section’s entrance of the long journey to celebrate our overcoming of Covid-19 and to wash away our pain of the past. Once you reach the “mask”, you come to realize that although the long journey on the Milky Way was difficult, it shines for having endured the Pandemic times. This is a participatory work completed by the citizens of Nowon-gu writing messages from their hearts on the mask, which has helped us overcome the Covid-19. On the mask are the messages that has never been delivered due to social distancing, things that are not yet done, the repressed feelings and about hope. May the visitors become able to talk about joy over hope, and vitality over healing.
