전영일˙가제트공방 <빛의 미로>

Jeon Young-Ill x Ga-z Wood Studio <Maze of Light>

목재 구조물과 조명으로 만들어진 미로다. 나무 틈새로 바닥에 설치된 조명에서 나온 빛이 새어 나온다. 5~10명 정도로 입장을 제한된 참여자들이 미로에 들어가서 길을 찾기 위해 움직이면 지나는 자리의 빛을 막아 움직이는 그림자를 만든다. 밖에 있는 관람자들은 참여자가 만드는 그림자로 참여자들의 위치를 확인할 수 있다. 미로 속 길의 입구와 출구는 정해져 있지 않다. 인생의 여정처럼 참여자가 직접 지나가며 만들어가는 길이 모두 답이다. 이 작품은 시민이 직접 만들고 참여하는 시민참여작품이자 커다란 빛 조형물이다. 전자제어장치를 사용하지 않고 사람들의 우연한 움직임으로 빛의 전멸을 제어하는 아날로그 인터렉티브 아트이기도 하다.

This is a maze made of wood structures and lighting. Light from the lighting installed on the floor seeps out through the wood cracks.
As a group of 5 to 10 people enter the maze and move about to find the way out, shadows are created by blocking the light of where they pass. Viewers outside the maze can guess the participants’ location with the shadows that the people inside are creating. The entrance and the exit of the maze are not determined, and the paths created by the participants are all answers, just as the journey of life is. This is a participatory artwork and a massive light structure created and engaged by the citizens, and also an interactive analog art that controls the light by people’s movements rather than with an electric control device.
