This annual symposium collaboratively explores the identity and direction of the Nowon Moonlight Walk to create an even better festival.
History
Nowon Moonlight Walk, a public art festival held in the city center at night, has maintained its identity as a ‘light festival’ while enhancing its public value and artistic quality. Since its inaugural year in 2020, it has held an annual symposium inviting experts and district residents to collaborate in creating and enjoying the festival together.
2025 Symposium < The Secret Behind the Famous Festival>
Nowon Moonlight Walk marks its sixth year, reflecting on the past five years and preparing for the next five. We collaborated with residents to explore ways to strengthen connections with the local community, enhance barrier-free accessibility, and reinforce the artistic identity and branding of the event as a nighttime public art exhibition.

2024 Symposium <Breathing Public Art>
Nowon Moonlight Walk, being a festival held at night, sought to explore ways to enhance the public nature of nighttime exhibitions, the utilization of lighting, and community participation. To this end, discussions were held with domestic and international experts.

2023 Symposium <Public Art in Cities and Regional Revitalization>
To evolve into an art exhibition festival that captures public interest, Nowon Moonlight Walk sought to create emotional resonance by weaving stories and fostering shared experiences. We revisit Nowon Moonlight Walk as an artistic practice that presents a model for a better social life.

2021 Seminar <Stories About Nowon-gu and Public Art>
Following its successful inaugural event in 2020, deeper consideration was given to the direction of the Nowon Moonlight Walk as a public art project involving citizens. We examined the role of the Nowon Moonlight Walk as a public art exhibition in collaboration with experts from various fields.
