〈그리팅맨(Greetingman)〉은 ‘인사’에서 시작되는 우리 사회의 관계에 대해 이야기합니다. 서로 인사를 나누는 순간 만들어지는 관계는 국가, 인종, 그리고 문화를 넘어설 수 있는 힘을 만들어줍니다. 다른 사람에 대한 존중과 겸손, 그리고 모두가 함께하는 세상에 대해 이야기하는 이 작품은 우루과이 몬테비데오에 세워진 제1호 그리팅맨을 시작으로 한국의 양구와 연천, 파나마시티, 에콰도르 등등 전 세계에 9개국 11개 장소에 세워져 있습니다. 15도로 정중히 고개를 숙인 작품 속에 담긴 평화의 메시지를 떠올리며 함께 인사를 나눠봅시다.
speaks of human relationships that begin with a simple act of greeting. The relationship formed in that moment carries the power to transcend nationality, race, and culture. The work embodies respect and humility toward others, and envisions a world shared by all. Since the installation of the first Greetingman in Montevideo, Uruguay, the sculptures have been placed in eleven locations across nine countries, including Yanggu and Yeoncheon in Korea, Panama City, and Ecuador.
