가제트 공방의 〈쉼터: 스피커〉는 눈으로 감상하는 시각 대상이면서 실제로 다양한 기능을 하는 복합적인 공간입니다. 이곳은 시민들이 편안히 휴식할 수 있는 쉼터이자, 시각예술과 음악, 휴식이 융합된 새로운 예술 경험을 선사하는 곳입니다.
이 작품은 노원구 청소년들의 진로와 자립 교육을 맡고 있는 상상이룸의 중고등학생들과 밴드 ‘네모난구’, 그리고 가제트공방이 함께 모여 완성한 커뮤니티아트 작품입니다. 청소년들의 바람과 소망은 ‘네모난구’의 음악으로, 함께 하는 목공 작업은 스피커의 형태로 탄생하였습니다. 작품 안에서 이루어지는 현장 공연 역시 다양한 배경과 세대를 넘어 서로 교감하는 장을 마련합니다.

GA-Z STUDIO’s <Shelter: Speaker> is both a visual artwork the visitor can enjoy with their sense of sight and interactive space with diverse functions. The space serves as a resting place where citizens can relax at the same time, delivers an artistic experience where visual art, music, and rest are integrated.
<Shelter: Speaker> is a community art work completed with The Square Sphere, a band composed of Nown-gu’s middle and high school students from Sangsangirum which is a center that supports youth career development and independence. The dreams and hopes of the youth were expressed through The Square Sphere’s music, while their collaborative woodworking was created into the physical form of the speaker.
Live performances held in the work provides a space for communication that transcends different backgrounds and generations.
