This artwork is inspired by the children\u2019s song \u201cHalf Moon,\u201d written and composed by Yoon Geuk-young in 1924 during the Japanese colonial rule over Korea. Like the artists and the people who have sublimated their national aspirations into music in times of hardship, Artist Lee Gibeom expresses that we can overcome the pandemic through art and culture and move toward a hopeful future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The work consists of about 120 small moons and one that is tree-shaped. A moon cannot shine on its own, but the ones in the work shimmer and sparkle on their own. The tree is a combined form of the moon and a laurel tree, and the herd of small moons around it create a magnificent view.
