작가는 섭식 환경에 따라 홍학의 색이 변하는 특징을 작품에서 구현했다. 먹이가 달라진다는 것은 홍학이 서식지를 바꾼다는 얘기다. 키치한 소재와 색으로 제작된 튜브 홍학은 크게 세 가지 크기로 구성, 설치되었다. 3.5 미터 크기의 대형 공기 조형물 홍학, 수면 위에 놓인 태양광 홍학들, 그리고 풀숲 곳곳에 놓여 있는 작은 홍학들이다. 주민 참여형인 이 작품에 노원구 [성민복지관]의 발달장애인들이 폐 유리병에 조명을 넣는 업사이클링 제작으로 참여하였다. 전시 기간 동안 일반 관람객은 천 주변 풀 숲에 놓인 작은 작은 홍학들의 서식지 위치를 옮기는 퍼포먼스에 참여했다. 이 작품은 장소에 대한 모색과 이동을 통해 특정 장소에 대한 사유를 이끌어내는 작품이다.
The feather color of flamingoes changes according to the food they consume, and the change of their diet means their habitat has been altered. Inspired by such amusing fact about this animal, the artist created flamingoes with air tubes using playful colors and materials, in three different sizes and installed them in disperse; a gigantic 3.5-meter-tall one, some floating on water as they beam with solar light, and tiny ones scattered on the grass. The Nowon-gu citizens with physical disabilities participated in this collaborative project by placing the lighting in glass bottles, resulting in an upcycled artwork. During the exhibition, the viewers could also take part in the performance of moving around the tiny-sized flamingoes amongst the grass, as if changing their habitat. Thinking and moving of location led the viewers to contemplate upon particular places in their lives.
