An ecological pyramid made of acrylic structures and light, each layer is printed with the inhabiting animals of Danghyeon stream; racoons, cats, migratory birds, fish and insects to name a few. The harmoniously illuminated lights cubes go out one by one from the bottom up when a sensor is triggered. And when all the lights go out, a red glow begins to appear in the pyramid, a warning on the destruction of ecosystem due to climate change. This artwork was co-commissioned by the participants of the Moonlight Art School, which was implemented by Nowon Foundation for Arts and Culture in collaboration with Gongreung Happy Power Plant. The young participants explored Danghyeon stream together and conceived the theme, form, and operation of the artwork to express their common interest in natural environment. The animals on each level of the pyramid are paintings by these participants.

Upon discussions with them, the artist planned and created this piece, to which he incorporated the social theme from Pink Floyd’s album “Dark Side of the Moon”. The colors of lighting are brought in from the album’s cover art, and the title “Eclipse” also comes from the album’s last song.
