금속 사이로 점멸하는 빛은 고압 고온의 환경에서 암석을 액체상태로 머금고 있는 용암을 형상화 했다. 용암은 우리가 사는 땅과 태고의 금속들과 생명을 만들어 낸 자연의 연금술사로 태고에 우리의 땅과 바위를 만들었다. 작가는 자연이라는 연금술사의 용광로를 선사시대 빗살무늬 토기무늬로 만들어 태고의 신비에 대해 생각하게 한다.
The flashing light through metal is the representation of lava incubating the liquidized rock in high pressure and temperature. Lava is nature’s alchemist for having produced metal and life on our land at the beginning of time. The artist of this piece portrayed such natural furnace in the comb-pattern as found in the earthenware of the Prehistoric Age, arousing the viewers to contemplate the mystic ancient time.
