UxU Studio
UxU Studio는 건축, 디자인, 예술 전반에 걸쳐 다분야에서 작업하는 대만 그룹입니다. 2013년 Chen Kuan-Hung과 Ying-Chu Chen이 설립한 UxU Studio는 오브제부터 기념비적인 공간 설치까지 다양한 작품을 선보였습니다. 제한 없이 일을 하는 것을 즐기고, 상상 이상의 일을 만드는 것을 즐기는 아티스트들입니다.
이 작품은 대만의 작가팀 UxU Studio가 기성제품들로 폭포를 연출한 ‘인공자연’이다. 최근 사람들은 특수조명으로 키우는 식물, 인공정원, 전기벽난로 처럼 인공적인 자연을 하나의 문명화된 생태계로 생각하게 되었다. 작가는 이런 자연과 인공 사이의 경계에 대한 질문을 던진다. 과연 인공적 인 자연은 기존 자연에 대한 개념을 확장하고 풍요롭게 할 수 있을까?
작품을 제작한 UxU 스튜디오는 첸잉추, 첸콴훙 등 대만의 건축가와 공간디자이너로 구성된 공공미술 그룹으로, 암스테르담 라이트 페스티벌과 사우디 누르 리야드 등을 통해 작품을 발표해왔다.
A group of Taiwanese artists have created the “artificial nature” of a waterfall from off-the-shelf products. In this contemporary era, man-made nature such as the controlled lighting to grow plants, programmed gardens, and electric fireplaces is considered to be the civilized ecosystem. This artwork raises a question of the boundary between nature and artificiality. Can the created nature expand and enrich our existing concept of nature?
UxU Studio is a public art group composed of architects and interior designers from Taiwan, including Chen Ying-Chu and Kuan Hung Chen. The artworks created from the studio have been presented at Amsterdam Light Festival, Noor Riyadh of Saudi Arabia, etc.
