This resting space is a geodesic dome. A geodesic dome is a polyhedron where numerous lines and vertices meet, creating a round, ball-like shape. This piece was created by Ga-Z Wood Studio. This artistic team, known for stacking wood to create geometric structures, envisioned the resting space for Nowon Moonlight Walk as a medium for imagining the infinite expanse of space.
The outer surface of the dome follows the mathematical order of its structure and emits light collected from solar panels, filling the night sky with stars that resemble the Milky Way. However, the true mystery of this dome lies inside. From the outside, you cannot see what’s within, as the dome holds another world, hidden beyond the boundary, much like the event horizon of a black hole.
