불암산의 커다란 바위 안에 아파트와 빌딩이 들어선 듯한 조형물 위로 떠 있는 커다란 달은, 자연과 인간 사이의 균형을 이야기한다. 자연을 넘어서는 지나친 개발은 인간과 자연 모두에게 유익만을 안겨주지 않기에, 이 작품은 인간의 문명과 자연환경이 서로 대립하지 않으며 함께 어우러져 살아가야 한다는 생각을 담고 있다. 달빛은 산의 윤곽을 비추고 그 자연의 틀 안에는 도시의 모습이 새겨져 있어서, 이들의 관계를 조용히 바라보는 듯한 커다란 달은 관람자와 함께 자연과 인간이 어떻게 공존해야 하는지를 생각해 보는 경험을 제공한다.
The large moon floating above a sculptural form which appears to contain apartments and buildings within a massive rock of Bulamsan Mountain speaks about the balance between nature and humanity. Since excessive development that goes beyond nature does not bring benefits to either humans or the natural world alone, this work conveys the idea that human civilization and the natural environment should not conflict, but rather coexist in harmony. Moonlight illuminates the outline of the mountain, while within that natural framework the image of the city is inscribed. The big moon provides an experience to the viewers where they can reflect on how nature and humanity can coexist together.
